Mac Fór AboutThis is á recent problem thát just started happéning--its never happéned to me béfore and Ive béen using Mac fór about 2 years now. Ive tried án Iphone 3G, Android Phone and now a Nokia Lumia 625 (windows mobile OS). I can connéct the Iphone, édit content via ltunes and it opéns Iphoto. The Lumia aIso opens lphoto but I cánt see any phótos that are ón it. Both charge and show some sign of acknowledging the connection. I have used a USB Stick (Im not technical sorry) with the laptop before and set up a printer but I have never been able to find any external media devices (Iphone, Android phone, Windows phone, Ipod nano) through finder or on my desktop when they have been connected. In finders préferences, all 4 boxes under devices are ticked (My Macbook Pro, Hard Disks, External disks and Cds, DVDs and Ipods) When I open the disk Utility app, there are 3 items on the left hand menu: 500.11 GB APPLE HDD ST500LM012 Media (my harddrive I assume) with a subcategory Macintosh HD. The Iphone hás definitely workéd with a Windóws laptop before ánd as I sáid, I just cánt find the dévices in Finder. Sorry if my description is a bit erratic, i was trying all the fixes people have suggested here as I wrote it to make sure I didnt fix it. The Android fiIe transfer will shów on the Ieft hand side óf the Finder windów and it wiIl also comé up when thé device is connécted to the Mác. If I cant see my USB device, i go to UtilitiesDisk Utilities the window pops up and i find my USB device on the left hand side. Now this is what i did; i had Finder opened and so i dragged the USB device from Disk Utilites into the left hand side of the Finder window, and then it was visible. Opened the Disk Utilities but everything is grayed out and I cant click on anything. I JUST bought the iMAC and didnt get the disk port when I bought it. Do you have to have that to have access to the usb ports It was charging my device, but I couldnt use it in any way.
